Power Plant Instrument Technician

Job Description

1. Perform work related to the installation, maintenance, inspection, and testing variety of electrical & instrumentation equipment, including but not limited to instrumentation, pneumatic system, DCS/PLC control system, electric motors, steam generator system, electrical accessories, MV – LV switchgear, transformer, and relay protection.
2. Ensure 'first job – right done' so that equipment reliability is maximized.
3. Having a role in close collaboration with other function in utility area to aim a reliable electrical equipment.
4. Perform reliability analysis and continuous improvement to eliminate electrical, instrumentation and control system losses.
5. Ensure all the equipment and installation meet the regulation.
6. Respect the compliance on safety, health, environment, as well as prevention on product safety & quality.

Requirements

1. Previous equivalent 3 – 6 years experiences as Instrument technician in power plant or chemical plant.
2. Able to demonstrate and familiar with track record of power plant/boiler processes and system implementation.
3. Minimum Diploma 3 Technical/Engineering School (D3 Engineering).
4. Experienced in the implementation of instrumentation maintenance - trouble shooting, preventive & predictive maintenance,
   specifically in steam turbine generator, coal fired - FB boiler, air compressor; min. 3 years.
5. Able to apply electrical and electronic theory and practice as applied to instrumentation equipment.
6. Having knowledge of equipment control valve, pressure transmitter, flow meter, temperature transmitter, level transmitter, oxygen analyzer, DCS, single loop controller, electric motors, MCC, and variable drives.
7. Knowing the materials, methods, and equipment used in the inspection, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair of process instrumentation and control equipment.
8. Able to read electrical, pneumatic drawing and P&ID to perform fault diagnostics to identify and correct electrical, pneumatic, and electric analogue failures, perform functional tests to identify and correct system failures.
9. Capable to operate electrical inspection and testing tools.
10. Preferably familiar with MV-LV switchgear system.
11. Familiar with air compressor, DCS deltaV, UPS and emergency genset.
12. Familiar with Ms. Office and computer operation.
13. Basic level in technical English.
14. Able to work in shift.
